Open House Postponed

Due to the winter storm forecast, Flagstaff County is postponing our Coffee with your Councillor open house.

Hazardous winter conditions are expected, with significant snowfall, strong winds, blowing snow, and reduced visibility anticipated to begin tonight and continue through to Tuesday evening. Travel conditions may deteriorate quickly, and visibility could be near zero at times.

The safety of our residents, Council members, and staff is our top priority. We encourage everyone to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.

We were looking forward to welcoming residents to connect with:

  • Murray Hampshire, Reeve – Division 3
  • Leslie Heck, Deputy Reeve – Division 5
  • Amy Jackson – Division 1
  • Alexis Ponto – Division 2
  • Lori Lindseth – Division 4

Coffee with your Councillor remains an important part of our public engagement efforts, and we are committed to providing a safe and welcoming space for conversation. A new date will be announced once conditions allow.

Thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe and warm, Flagstaff County. ❄️

Agricultural Recycling

For years, farmers faced a tough question: how to handle agricultural plastic waste. Often, the solution was to bury it, burn it with other farm waste, or stash it away in a shed. But with growing awareness around environmental stewardship, recycling initiatives have become a key priority.

Border Protection!

Shelterbelts are a lot like border protection – they provide security and stability, standing as a barrier against the elements while supporting everything within. Just like borders help safeguard a region, shelterbelts shield farmland, livestock, and ecosystems, offering a wide range of benefits.
